How To Use The MAGIC STRIKERTM

Learning to use your new MAGIC STRIKERTM will require a little practice and some patience for first time users.

  1. With the flat serrated side of Striker Blade, file off the black protective coating on MAGIC STRIKERTM shaft to expose completely the metal shaft.

  2. Shave small pieces of the MAGIC IGNITIERTM fatwood, or create a base from dry grass, paper, birch bark or other material.

  1. Position the end of MAGIC STRIKERTM shaft into a small-prepared pile of dry paper, grass or fatwood shavings that you wish to ignite.

  1. Hold the Striker Blade firmly in your hand with your thumb resting on file side of Striker Blade. Shorten your grip on Striker Blade and position your thumb about 1 inch on the flat side of Striker Blade just in front of the black handle. There should be about 2 inches of Striker Blade exposed to strike the shaft with. The backside of a good hunting knife acts also as a great striker blade.

  1. Positioned the Striker Blade firmly in your hand and at the top of the MAGIC STRIKERTM shaft on a 45° angle. With the edge of Striker Blade pressed firmly against the MAGIC STRIKERTM shaft scrape downward applying several quick strokes along the full length of the shaft. Repeat until ignition creates a fire. Additional pressure against the MAGIC STRIKERTM shaft with the Striker Blade while scraping downward will create larger ignition sparks.

  1. MAGIC IGNITIERTM fatwood, dry grass, paper, birch bark or other material will burst into flames.  Add other wood pieces, dry grass, paper, birch bark or other material to increase your fire

If the striking edge of the Striker Blade becomes dull, resurface with a file or small grinder to sharpen the edge.
